The Houston Food Bank loves groups and we are one of the few nonprofit organizations in Houston who can accommodate large groups.
By working together on a project that helps the fight against hunger, employees or members of any group can reap the benefits of community involvement. Your group will gain a sense of achievement, unity and productivity. Group volunteer events at the Houston Food Bank build morale and develop stronger communication skills among peers.
Please review the following Volunteer Guidelines to be sure your group is able to comply with our safety rules:
All volunteers must wear close toed shoes, long shorts or pants, and a tee shirt. Sandals and flip flops are not allowed in the warehouse.
No cell phones, purses, bags or headphones are permitted in the warehouse.
No overly tight or sexually suggestive clothing are permitted in the warehouse.
Clothing must be free of offensive messages and graphics.
Muscle shirts on men, women or children are not permitted in the warehouse.
So that we do not overbook and we make the most efficient use of your time and energy, all groups must schedule their visit in advance. To schedule your group, please complete the online Scheduling Request. It?s easy and it will take only a minute.
After you submit your request, you will be contacted for confirmation by a member of our staff. Due to limited parking, we ask groups to carpool or use vans and buses.
If your group needs a catered lunch, we recommend contacting Community Kitchen, the Houston Food Bank's culinary academy. More
